Mfegue George Rodrigues’ sensational finish powered Asante Kotoko to a 2-1 win over Future Stars at Adako Jachie on Wednesday.

Similar to our comeback in the league on matchday one when the Porcupines fought back for a 3-1 win at Dreams FC, the lads rallied back after conceding in the first half.

Mfegue’s goal came in the 82nd minute, powering an overhead kick into the roof of the net after latching on to Solomon Sarfo Taylors connection from Imoro Ibrahim’s cross.

The visitors got on the board first, with a winger feeding on a throw pass to bend a left-footed strike into the far post from the left side of the attack.

But that lead was nullified 25 minutes into the second half by youngster Clinton Opoku who struck in from close range after the visitors’ goalkeeper had pelt Mfegue’s connection to Ibrahim Imoro’s free-kick.

The game formed part of Prosper Narteh’s preparations for Sunday’s Premier League visit of Bechem United, and it did serve its purpose as the Porcupines were the dominant side.
