We’ve recorded a back-to-back defeat for the first time this season after we got beaten by Legon Cities at the Babayara sports stadium on Sunday afternoon.

We were not at our best when we hosted the Accra-based team in our matchday 26 league fixture in Kumasi. After losing to RTU last weekend, we were hoping for our boys to bounce back, however, it was not meant to be, Michel Ottou converted from the spot after referee Serlom Yao Bless awarded a controversial penalty against us in the 17th minute to put the visitors into 1-0 lead.

The visitors doubled their advantage 11 minutes later after Hans Kofi met a cross in our box and made no mistake to tap it at the back of the net, to put the score at 2-0.

Just before the break, Mudasiru Salifu headed home to reduce the deficit to only one with the hope of mounting a comeback

However, it was not the case, following a quick goal by Hans Kofi just after the break to restore their two goals lead

From here, our boys gave up as Cities proved to be too strong for us to break down.

We recorded our second defeat in the second half of the season and our fouth for the entire season.

Our boys are disappointed butknow that they can’t afford to slip up anymore at this stage of the season

What’s next?

The team will travel to Sogakope at the Redbull Arena ahead of our attempt to get the three points to return to winning ways. The match is on Sunday with a 3 pm kick-off.
