Ghana Premier League midweek action will bounce back, after FA Cup games over the weekend, leader leaders Asante Kotoko after a disappointing 1-1 draw against Aduana stars will travel to Obuasi to lock horns with under-fire AshantiGold sporting club, the Obuasi based club has been demoted to the third-tier after they were found guilty of match-fixing in their matchday 34 fixture against Inter Allies football club.

Since their punishment will take effect at the beginning of next season, the Ghana FA has permitted them to honor their remaining 6 matches

With just three wins out of the remaining games to win their 25th league title, The Porcupine Warriors will hope to add more misery to Ashgold by beating them to get closer to the trophy.

We’ve been very good on the road and Prosper Ogum and his charges will hope to continue like that with a good performance

It will be interesting to see how coach Thomas Duah and the players who have been banned will react, three days after the verdict came out, Ashgold knows whatever they do, they are going to the Second Division unless their appeal is upheld which is very difficult. However, they have some players who were not affected and will play hard to attract suitors next season which will be tricky for us.

Our technical team are aware of this and will map up a system and tactics to neutralize their threats and exploit their weaknesses to punish them.

• TOP 4

• Head coach: coach Thomas Duah

• Captain: Osei Agyemang

• League leaders

• Technical Head: Prosper Ogum Nartey

Well-drilled and tactical supremacy has helped us from the start of the season, we are defeated in only four (4) games, seven (8) draws, and sixteen (16) wins, we’ve scored forty (40) goals and conceded seventeen (17) goals the best in the league but we need to look at ourselves and up to our game on all fronts to wrap up the league as soon as possible meanwhile AshantiGold SC after 28 games, they’ve amassed thirty-eight (38) points, scoring thirty-six (36) and conceding twenty-nine (29) goals

The injuries situation has been a serious threat to our title ambition but thankfully Ogum has been able to make the best out of the remaining players, we will go into this game without midfield maestro Justice Blay who might not play again this season after undergoing a successful surgery a month ago, talented winger, Isaac Oppong has been ruled out of the season months ago, Richmond Lamptey, Clinton Opoku, young goalkeeper Rauf are all out of the game, Yusif Mubarik is suspended for accumulation of cards, Andy Kumi who hasn’t kicked a ball this season is in contention after showing signs of top form at the training grounds, our Skipper Abdul Ganiu returned to training this week and will be assessed before the game Patrick Asmah won’t play any part after he got suspended for the rest of the season for indiscipline, whereas Augustine Agyapong is on the National team duties

The last time the two sides met, it ended in a 3-1 in our favor
