Ghana Premier League leader Asante Kotoko will travel to take on Medeama SC in Tarkwa in a titanic top two clash at the Akoon Park in the hope to bounce back from last week’s home defeat

The Porcupine warriors looked to have wrapped up the league but a shock 1-0 defeat to Berekum Chelsea over the weekend has blown the title race wide open, especially after Medeama beat Great Olympics at Accra in Matchday 30 fixture, though we still have our destiny in our hands, a defeat today will put us in a very complex situation

With this in mind, our technical team and playing body will be ready for the challenge in what will be a very important month if we want to win the league title.

Our home performances have been the best, however, we’ve remained the best away side since last season, with Kotoko not losing at any park this season.

With just two wins and a draw out of our remaining games, we will be crown champions in Ghana, so a draw against a second-place team will be good for us.

Our opponents have lost only one game in their last 15 home games making them a strong side when they are playing in front of their fans, so we should be aware of this.

Our technical team are aware of this and will map up a system and tactics to neutralize their threats and exploit their weaknesses to punish them.

Well-drilled and tactical supremacy has helped us from the start of the season, we are defeated in Five (5) games, seven (8) draws, and sixteen (16) wins, we’ve scored forty (40) goals and conceded seventeen (18) goals the best in the league but we need to look at ourselves and up to our game on all fronts to wrap up the league as soon as possible meanwhile Medeama SC after 30 games, they’ve amassed fifty (50) points, scoring twenty (23) and conceding nineteen (19) goals

The injuries situation has been a serious threat to our title ambition but thankfully Ogum has been able to make the best out of the remaining players, we will go into this game without midfield maestro Justice Blay who might not play again this season after undergoing a successful surgery a month ago, talented winger, Isaac Oppong has been ruled out of the season months ago, Clinton Opoku, young goalkeeper Rauf are all out of the game, our Skipper Abdul Ganiyu is out of the game, while Mohammed Sheriff is ruled out till the rest of the season, Charles Owusu is injured and won’t play any part in the game, Stephen Amankona is out with sickness, Yusif Mubarik will be available after he got suspended for accumulation of cards, Andy Kumi who hasn’t kicked a ball this season is in contention after showing signs of top form at the training grounds, Patrick Asmah won’t play any part after he got suspended for the rest of the season for indiscipline, whereas Augustine Agyapong is on the National team duties

The last time the two sides met, it ended in a 1-0 in our favor
