Asante Kotoko have been crowned 2021/22 Premier League champions after playing a 1-1 draw game against Ashanti Gold SC at the Obuasi Len clay

Kotoko, who knew a draw would secure them the title, were down by a goal to Ashgold with just 10 minutes into the game but turned the game around in the second half and got the needed equalizer through an unlikely source Maxwell Agyemang in thrilling scenes that ensured we are champions of Ghana.

AshantiGold SC who will be demoted to the second-tier league after they were found guilty of match-fixing against Inter Allies last season gave us something to be remembered for with a stupendous performance from key players like Stephen Banahene, Yaw Annor, Eric Esso, and a few other guys.

Asante Kotoko has won the 2021-2022 Ghana Premier league with three matches to spare, with goal king still in sight, the Porcupine Warriors will want to help their top mask man Franck Etouga Mbella to win the top award ahead of Yaw Annor who is tied with the Cameroonian on 20 goals

Asante Kotoko will play Great Olympics in their next game, before facing Elmina Sharks at the Babayara sports stadium before playing Accra Lions to climax a wonderful season

What’s next?

The team will travel to Accra ahead of our attempt to get another three points when we face Great Olympics. The match is on Sunday with a 3 pm kick-off.
